Personality

Lex's personality is usually manipulative and certain he's in the right, though in some fics, he manages to maintain his status as Clark's friend and becomes an ally to the Justice League.

Powers and Abilities

Thanks to the 1989 Meteor Shower, Lex has a heightened immune system that protects him from disease and has saved his life more than once. Also, due to the neural toxin Tess used on him, Lex's already above average intelligence has increased due to an increase in brain activity. He's also skilled in hand-to-hand combat thanks to the aid of an old chauffeur.

Weaknesses

Lex has most weaknesses as a standard human, but he is still immune to most diseases, and it seems impossible for him to bleed to death due to his accelerated white blood cell count.

Superboy

Lex greets Tess after his memories are restored.

A few months after Clark became Superman, Lex went up to Tess as she was looking over the blueprints for rebuilding the Mansion, commenting, that he can't say he approves of what Alexander did to the Mansion to show Tess that his memories had survived. He also claims that he had an antidote to the neural toxin handy, saying that the Master Work was more than just various pieces of clones, claiming to have survived the explosion of his truck and simply having the pieces of his clones grafted onto his ruined body, aided by Helen Bryce, using the time everyone thought he was amnesiac to position himself exactly where he needed to be for the coming events, choosing to be a better hero than Clark after hearing about the future from Pax, telling Tess that she'll see what his master stroke is and that he's still counting on Clark being there to stop him. Lex then meets Conner and notes how he says his name the same as Clark. He then explains what he explained to Tess. He then gives Conner the same speech he gave Clark, enjoying how Conner doesn't have patience with it. He also inquires about Alex, though assuring them that he doesn't plan on recruiting him. He also reveals that he let Alexander leave Cadmus with Tess and gave Oliver access to Clark's ship for his fight with the Unholy Trinity and taking credit for pushing Clark into becoming Superman, brushing off Conner's claim that it was Jonathan Kent with Lex calling Conner a brother, getting his goat. Lex then leaves and returns to Metropolis.

While Lex was at LexCorp, Alex arrived much to Lex's surprise, having become sick of distrust and apparently embracing being a Luthor. Lex then welcomed Alex to LexCorp as his little brother with a hug and a dark smirk.

At Cadmus, Lex is overlooking a child's room with his new chief doctor, Helen, where a prototype of LX-15, a clone of Emily with Clark's DNA as a stabilizing agent was until her super speed developed recently, and she escaped. Lex insisted on not telling Alex of the situation as Emily was his prototype before walking off.

Before Emily developed superspeed, Lex talked to her, saying that he thinks they got off on the wrong foot. When Emily asked where Lana was, Lex assured her that he and Dr. Bryce would take good care of her before he walked off. In the present, Lex walked in on Tess trying to get Alex to come back to the Mansion, asking why he'd want to do that. When Tess snaps that Lex will just turn Alex into him, Lex pointed out that Tess was already doing a good job of that. When Tess said that Lex destroyed everything good in his life over a need for control, Lex pointed out that she did the same thing. He then asked what Alex had that he didn't, which was a brother. However, Alex seemed to choose Lex, so he left with Alex, noting how you win some, and you lose some.

Misconception

At Lex's penthouse in Metropolis, Victoria arrives. Lex then questions Victoria fixing tests as he didn't even know about any tests, learning that Victoria believes Conner and Alex to be their deceased twin children, with Lex clearly denying it. He then insisted that he put the children in an orphanage and pretended nothing happened to protect them from Lionel and giving Victoria a shrink following the incident with Hardwick Industries. Lex tried to explain, but Victoria refused and left, much to Lex's bemusement. After receiving a phone call, Lex explained to Helen that Victoria was holding Tess hostage, and if he didn't make a press conference stating that Conner and Alex were his and Victoria's children, she'd kill Tess, noting how similar it was to when Rachel Dunleavy held him hostage. Deciding to swallow his pride, Lex called Clark to explain the situation to him. Lex then pointed out that his problem had become Clark's as Clark easily picked up on the situation. Afterwards, Lex held a press conference specifically to declare that Tess has been kidnapped, and that he won't give in to Victoria's demands, telling her that if Tess is hurt, he'll put her away in a mental institution for good. After Superboy saved Tess, Alex confronted Lex at the penthouse. Lex then explained that shortly before the Club Zero incident, he and Victoria had spent the night together. Following that, Victoria went to Lex with twins for help. Knowing how Lionel would twist the children, Lex sent the twins to an orphanage called Smallville Charities that he had Tess create and had them put in a good home. However, they died just after their first birthday. Lex then asks Alex to leave as they've both had a bad day. Once Alex leaves, Lex ponders a picture of the twins with their foster parents, and a note explaining their deaths.

Chloe, I Blew Up Your Kid Part 1

Lex was looking over Tess' results in attempting to enlarge produce to aid in the fight against hunger, finding that the results were non existent as the projects either exploded or caused a power surge. As such, Lex called Tess and told him how they were pulling the plug. When Clark, Lois, Oliver, Chloe, and Tess went to LexCorp, already locked up for the weekend, Lex arrived, asking what they're doing there. When Clark explained that they need the growth machine, Lex asks why, insisting on being told since it's his technology or else he'll also revoke Tess' access. He then learned from Chloe that during the last testing, Roy was grown to eight feet due to an accident, so Lex allowed them to take the machine.

Chloe, I Blew Up Your Kid Part 2

When news of Roy escaping military custody, Lex arrived and informed General Wade Eiling that Roy no longer fell into his jurisdiction, and it was up to Tess, Chloe, and Oliver to get Roy and return him to his normal size. After Oliver thanked Lex, Lex informed the group that Roy was heading towards Metropolis, which would make him grow even bigger.

Smallville: Swann

Commencement

Lex explains that Lana isn't at the Mansion and asks Clark why he and Virgil Swann are hanging out so much, which Clark puts aside as friendship. He went to the Caves before he got knocked out by Chloe.

Reckoning

Lex lost the senatorial race to Jonathan. After Lex lost the senatorial race to Jonathan, Lex drunkenly asked Lana what she knew about Clark. He chased Lana in his car, and Lana was killed in a car crash. Lex also witnessed Clark super-speed to the scene of the accident. However, due to Clark reversing time, Lana didn't die in a car crash and Lex didn't see Clark. Lex later attended Jonathan's funeral.

Vessel

Zod possesses Lex.

Later, Lex was abducted by Brainiac and given Kryptonian powers. Unknown to Lex, he was chosen to be the vessel for General Zod, and Clark was told by Jor-El that he had to kill Lex in order to prevent Zod's return. Lex confronted Clark at the Kent Farm. He then attacked with his Kryptonian abilities, and Clark reacted to it, letting Lex know that he had the powers as he did. Eventually, the fight led to the Fortress of Solitude. Clark showed Lex a Kryptonian dagger Jor-El gave him. However, he tossed the dagger down as a sign of possibly starting their friendship over. Brainiac then grabbed the dagger and used it to open the portal for Zod. When Zod possessed his body, Lex became dormant and his spirit seemed to be "dead." After trapping Clark in the Phantom Zone, Zod posed as Lex for the time being, kissing Lana when she came to see what happened.

Zod

Lex managed to get free from Zod when Clark returned from the Phantom Zone and used the Crystal of El to separate Zod's spirit from Lex's body, restoring Lex back to normal with no recollection of the destruction he caused while possessed by Zod until he and Clark talked, and Clark revealed his secret to him, and they restarted their friendship. Lex then encouraged Clark to repursue a relationship with Lana, resulting in Lana learning Clark's secret and the two becoming engaged.

Justice

Lex's fear for Bart after it's confirmed.

Lex worked together with Ollie's team to investigate Victoria's taking of his old Level 33.1 project from before he and Clark became friends again. He reluctantly agreed to let Bart Allen, codenamed Impulse, look through Victoria's files, which leads to him being captured. Lex then agrees with Ollie to explain things to Clark. As such, he explains the 33.1 incident to Clark and works with Chloe and Dr. Swann to oversee the team from Watchtower with the codename of X. He then has Victor Stone, Cyborg, hack into the plant's security system to activate a self destruct system that goes off after Clark, Green Arrow, Aquaman, Impulse, and Cyborg escape after ensuring that Victoria and her team were evacuated. As Oliver and his team were about to leave to investigate more Level 33.1 facilities thanks to Lex giving them a list, he and Oliver bury the hatchet as he stays with Clark to look for the escaped Phantom.

Phantom

Lex went to the Kent Farm to talk to Clark after John Jones faced off with the phantom. Lex then went to the dam to keep Clark safe, but they end up cornered by the phantom, now with Clark's body, and Lex tries to drag Lionel off as the dam begins breaking.

Bizarro

Lex is saved by a mysterious woman.

As the dam was about to burst, Lex dragged his father to his car, but the water washed the car away. Fighting to stay alive, Lex saw an angelic girl in the river, and she later saved him and Lionel by bringing them to shore. Lex managed to catch a glimpse of her before she flew off. Lex explained the events to Lionel, who was unsure until he saw visual evidence that it couldn't have been Clark. Lex then explained what happened to Clark and the others when they arrived and helped Clark set up a trap for Bizarro. After Bizarro was dealt with, Lex explained what he could remember of the girl who saved him.

Kara

Lex finds a new fixation.

Lex investigates a spaceship with Clark when Lois arrives. Once the girl arrives and knocks Lois out, Lex stays with Lois while Clark goes after the girl, making an alibi for what happened. Lex then arrives at the farm when Clark catches up with the girl, revealed to be Clark's cousin Kara. Lex then helps Kara with heat vision. After discovering that Victoria had stolen Kara's ship, Lex helped distract Victoria while Clark, Kara, and Patricia got the ship back. Back at the Kent Farm, Lex gives Kara a head start on an identity Chloe developed for her. Lex then joins the gang in visiting Martha to introduce her to Kara.

Blue

Zor-El on Earth.

Lex and Kara eventually became a couple and had some alone time together during Lex's birthday. Shortly after clones of Lara and Zor-El were created, Kara introduced Lex to her father, with Lex managing to match Zor-El's subtle frets with equally strong defenses. He later questioned Lionel about Zor-El and learned of how he tried to kill Jor-El. Lex then informed Clark which led to a confrontation at Lionel's office and later the Fortress and Zor-El's defeat.

Persona

Lex helps Clark deal with Bizarro.

Lex encountered Bizarro while Clark was away, and he was beaten badly before being saved by Kara. Lex then confronted Clark at the barn with a knife made from Clark's ship, asking what Lara's last words were to prove that it was Clark. Lex then explains what happened to him. He then insists that they do something about Bizarro.

Descent

Lex remembers the truth about his first arrival to Smallville and of the Veritas Society.

Lex learns that a man claiming to be his twin brother was actually someone from an alternate reality where Clark never came to Earth, which Lex mused that he's not shocked by that fact considering all the weirder things. Lex also theorizes that they have to learn of a way to reveal that Earth-3 Lex isn't Lex's twin. Once the group met up, Lex learned the whole story of Clark's alternate universe journey and thought it was interesting, agreeing that his alternate self was a jerk. He then rushed out with the others when Lana confronted Clark about kissing Lois. Lex later saw a news report of Lionel apparently committing suicide, which Lex immediately didn't buy, believing that the other Lex had killed him. Lex then agreed to talk to Dr. Swann, and he revealed the truth about Veritas, which was why Lex and Oliver would often meet at the Queen Mansion. He then agrees to help find the Orb before the other Lex, working with Kara to retrieve the missing pieces. While they were away and Lana was made catatonic, Lex promised that he helped her. Lex then attended Lionel's funeral with the others, and he joined Clark in sprinkling dirt on his father's grave.

Arctic

Lex assisted in a way to find Brainiac with Clark, Chloe, and Kara when there was a power outage, giving Clark the clue to find him. Lex later noticed damage in the mansion and realized that the other Lex had discovered where the Orb was hidden and the location of the Fortress of Solitude. He then went to the Fortress to stop his alternate self where he was met with Clark. At the Fortress, Lex shot at him several times, but Luthor set off the Orb as the Fortress began crumbling. Desperate to save his friend, Lex dragged Clark to the transporter which miraculously transported the two away as the Fortress crumbled on Luthor.

Odyssey

Lex and Kara reunite after a month.

After the Fortress's collapse, Lex went missing and was presumed dead. Lex knew that in case he didn't return from the Arctic, he had to pick someone to run LuthorCorp so he appointed Tess Mercer as his successor. A month after his disappearance, Oliver found Lex and a powerless Clark in Russia being used for manual labor. Oliver managed to rescue the two as Lex reunited with Kara and introduced her to Tess, whom he explains had been working for him after he saved her life. He then went to LuthorCorp and retook control of the company, warning the board to wait until a body was found for them to claim he was dead again. He then revealed the other Lex as a fraud, made easy as he had recently bought the Daily Planet.

Bloodline

Lex was in a board meeting at LuthorCorp, discussing the Red-Blue Blur stories in the Daily Planet as well as discussing mysterious murders all over the city, justifying the story's credibility by Lois' reputation for telling the truth and reports of the Batman in Gotham, when Tess arrived and told Lex he had a call where Oliver explained how Clark, Kara, and Lois had gone missing, causing Lex to adjourn the meeting. Lex then arrived and inquired where Chloe was when she arrived and explained that she knew Lex's old friend Davis Bloome. Back at LuthorCorp, Lex was overlooking some files when Tess arrived and explained how Clark, Kara, and Lois returned, but she also explained how Davis Bloome was something called Doomsday, which Lex recognized as the Ultimate Destroyer from the Veritas Journal he inherited from Lionel. He then read aloud how Doomsday will beat Clark to death when Clark arrived stating that they can't give up on Davis as well as introducing Lex to a dog he found in the Phantom Zone, Krypto. Lex agrees with Clark to keep a good eye on Davis and try to avoid killing him.

Abyss

Lex went to Chloe's bridal shower with Tess and Kara where he reunited with Lana. He also tried to get Kara to calm down as she held a grudge against Lana for breaking Clark's heart when she left. Lex then attended Jimmy's wedding as a groomsman. He also told Clark that he helped Jimmy write his vows, getting inspiration from Friends. Just then, Doomsday arrived. Lex tries to shoot him, but Doomsday simply takes the bullets and proceeds to kidnap Chloe and put Jimmy into critical condition.

Requiem

Lex goes after his alternate self.

At the mansion, Lex learned with Tess that LuthorCorp had somehow lost a deal to Victoria and LexCorp. Realizing they were bugged, Lex and Tess began looking with the bug being found by Kara. When Krypto arrived at the Mansion with Clark and began pulling at Kara's skirt, Lex insisted that Kara go with them as it seemed important with him and Tess keeping in touch via Watchtower before joking with Tess about how she secretly liked Krypto. A short time later, Oliver confronted Lex over Lionel arranging the plane crash that killed his parents. Lex advised Oliver not to dwell on it, drawing experience from when the other Lex killed Lionel. It's shown that Lex also has a picture of himself and Tess from before the Meteor Shower. When an explosion occurred at LuthorCorp that took out the board of executives, Lex and Tess survived as they were running late due to traffic. When Clark discovered the cause of the explosion was a toy monkey, Lex realized that it was an ex-employee named Winslow Schott, presuming he was hired by a recently revealed to be alive Lex from Earth-3. Lex then apologized for what his alternate self did, forcing Lana to break up with Clark. Lex then assisted the League in the search for Schott, also assuming that as the other Lex is alive, he is presumed to know everything about Clark. Lex later learned from Chloe that there was a bomb on top of the Daily Planet, deciding it was time to finish this with Tess and Oliver. They then meet up with Clark after Lana used a recently gained powersuit to absorb the Kryptonite radiation, explaining they were going to bring the other Lex in when his truck mysteriously exploded. Scanning the remains, Lex confirmed that it was the Lex from Earth-3. After Lana left once again, Lex checked on Clark and agreed with Clark's idea to continue to pursue his relationship with Lois and look to the future with Lex wondering what happened to the other Lex.

While at Excelsior Academy Preparatory School in 1996, Lex and his friend Duncan Allenmeyer were bullied by Oliver. Lex eventually turned on Duncan to gain Oliver's acceptance and beat him up so brutally, Duncan stumbled into the street and was hit by a car. Lex later encountered his old classmate Oliver Queen at their Excelsior Academy class reunion, and he had to come to terms with the events that happened years ago. Shortly after, Oliver's old friends were killed in violent and mysterious accidents that pointed to Duncan Allenmeyer. Lex confronted his father about this and learned that Lionel used Kryptonite to keep Duncan's brain alive. Once Clark convinced Duncan to accept that Lex was sorry, Lex personally apologized to Duncan, whose spirit was attacking the Mansion, allowing him to die in peace.

He then agrees to help find the Orb before the other Lex, working with Kara to retrieve the missing pieces. When Clark and Kara were captured by Victoria and the other Lex as they tried to retrieve Lionel's key, Lex arrived to help them out, noting how the other Lex's Lionel must've been proud of his son for murdering him. He reiterates that the other Lex doesn't belong here and gets into a fight with him that goes from simple word play to rapiers. Lex then begins to lose his temper and start to choke the other Lex for Lionel's murder before he's stopped by Clark and talked down. While musing at the Mansion he remembers when Lionel gave Lex a passport shortly after the Duncan incident. He then gently declines talking to Kara about what he's feeling. While they were away and Lana was made catatonic, Lex promised that he helped her. Lex then attended Lionel's funeral with the others, and he joined Clark in sprinkling dirt on his father's grave.

Arctic

Lex assisted in a way to find Brainiac with Clark, Chloe, and Kara when there was a power outage, giving Clark the clue to find him. Lex later noticed damage in the mansion and realized that the other Lex had discovered where the Orb was hidden and the location of the Fortress of Solitude. He then went to the Fortress to stop his alternate self where he was met with Clark. At the Fortress, Lex shot at him several times, but Luthor set off the Orb as the Fortress began crumbling. Desperate to save his friend, Lex dragged Clark to the transporter which miraculously transported the two away as the Fortress crumbled on Luthor.

Odyssey

Lex and Kara reunite after a month.

After the Fortress's collapse, Lex went missing and was presumed dead. Lex knew that in case he didn't return from the Arctic, he had to pick someone to run LuthorCorp so he appointed Tess Mercer as his successor. A month after his disappearance, Oliver found Lex and a powerless Clark in Russia being used for manual labor. Oliver managed to rescue the two as Lex reunited with Kara and introduced her to Tess, whom he explains had been working for him after he saved her life. He then went to LuthorCorp and retook control of the company, warning the board to wait until a body was found for them to claim he was dead again. He then revealed the other Lex as a fraud, made easy as he had recently bought the Daily Planet.

Bloodline

Lex was in a board meeting at LuthorCorp, discussing the Red-Blue Blur stories in the Daily Planet as well as discussing mysterious murders all over the city, justifying the story's credibility by Lois' reputation for telling the truth and reports of the Batman in Gotham, when Tess arrived and told Lex he had a call where Oliver explained how Clark, Kara, and Lois had gone missing, causing Lex to adjourn the meeting. Lex then arrived and inquired where Chloe was when she arrived and explained that she knew Lex's old friend Davis Bloome. Back at LuthorCorp, Lex was overlooking some files when Tess arrived and explained how Clark, Kara, and Lois returned, but she also explained how Davis Bloome was something called Doomsday, which Lex recognized as the Ultimate Destroyer from the Veritas Journal he inherited from Lionel. He then read aloud how Doomsday will beat Clark to death when Clark arrived stating that they can't give up on Davis as well as introducing Lex to a dog he found in the Phantom Zone, Krypto. Lex agrees with Clark to keep a good eye on Davis and try to avoid killing him.

Abyss

Lex went to Chloe's bridal shower with Tess and Kara where he reunited with Lana. He also tried to get Kara to calm down as she held a grudge against Lana for breaking Clark's heart when she left. Lex then attended Jimmy's wedding as a groomsman. He also told Clark that he helped Jimmy write his vows, getting inspiration from Friends. Just then, Doomsday arrived. Lex tries to shoot him, but Doomsday simply takes the bullets and proceeds to kidnap Chloe and put Jimmy into critical condition.

Lex appeared in one of Jordan's visions when he touched Clark, with Lex stating that they have a destiny together.

Lex was visited by a man going by Chad North who was actually Kyodai Ken. Lex stated he didn't know anything about Bruce Wayne being in Smallville and simply countered his threats. Lex then went to Bruce, having figured it out but keeping it secret, and telling him about Kyodai's visit. Learning from Bruce that he died last year.

Crisis

Lex confronts Lionel.

Lex confronted Lionel over Kyodai Ken, though Lionel lied about it and threatened him with General MacArthur's revolver. The two were then kidnapped by Kyodai and held in Level Three. They were saved by Clark and Bruce. Lex later assured Clark that he'd figure out how Lionel made the Lazarus Serum that revived Kyodai.

Lex explains that Lana isn't at the Mansion and asks Clark why he and Virgil Swann are hanging out so much, which Clark puts aside as friendship. He also just missed Bruce listening in on him. He went to the Caves before he got knocked out by Chloe and Bruce.

Clark used his powers to save Lex from drowning, and so began their friendship, with Lex repaying Clark by taking him down from the scarecrow poll a few nights later.

After examining Lana Lang's Meteor Rock necklace, he went to talk to her. Resulting in him leading Lana to realize Whitney lost her necklace. Once at home, Lex joked about Clark making a career out of saving people after having saved Whitney from an unknown attack. Lex also used a model his father gave him to link Clark's crush on Lana to the Battle of Troy, giving Clark Lana's necklace in a lead box as his Trojan Horse. Lex then mused over the Meteor Rocks and making fun of how Tess does the same, particularly with the Porche.

While Clark was dropping off produce, Lex arrived, and Clark pointed out that he should be a little slower. Lex then learns that Clark heard from a psychic named Cassandra that someone close to Clark was going to die. Lex scoffs at the idea. That night, he gets a visit in his office from Lionel, who gives Lex an offer to return to Metropolis, heading three divisions, unsure of what to do, made worse by Julian refusing to talk to him because of this, Lex goes to Cassandra. After she receives a vision of Lex helping Superman face Darkseid, Cassandra says to keep Clark close. Lex then shows the Porche from the accident to Clark before scraping it, saying he's putting the past behind him. He also states that he's staying in Smallville to Lionel, who states that the offer still stands when he's ready. The next morning, Lex arrives to visit Cassandra again, but she's passed away.

Craving

Lex developed an interest in the effects that the meteor rocks had on humans, but he dropped it in favor of helping Clark with Lana's birthday present.

Jitters

Earl and Lex end up dangling 30 feet above a concrete floor.

He was at his most heroic this year when Earl Jenkins took hostages inside the LuthorCorp fertilizer plant. Lex entered the plant to negotiate and became a hostage in place of the others.

Rogue

Lex has a new proposal for Victoria.

Lex showed his callousness when he renewed his relationship with Victoria Hardwick as a means to an end.

Hug

Lex went to Rickman's banquet with Victoria. He also insulted Rickman for his tendency to pollute the community he builds one of his plants in, especially since his mother helped get Rickman his first job. When Tess arrived to say Lillian wanted to see him, Lex assured Victoria that he and Tess are just friends. Lex then warned Clark that Rickman wants his farm, with Clark explaining that he thinks a man named Kyle didn't hurt Lana earlier, but he's one of the only ones who thinks so. Lex encourages Clark not to back down from his view. The next day, Lex learns that Jonathan sold the farm to Rickman. Lex looks over the contract and says he should be able to get them out of it. He also offers sanctuary to Kyle as well as getting a surgeon to stitch a gunshot up. He also defends his decision from Lillian as he believes Clark's right about him. After a run in with Rickman's assistant, Mercy Graves, Lex talks with Clark and Chloe, finding out that Rickman and Kyle were trapped in a car during the '89 Meteor Shower. Lex gets them to the Mansion and has them go off while he stops his mother from stopping them by inquiring if she knew Kyle was gone. While she was gone, Rickman arrived and brainwashed him into killing Kyle. This leads to Lex confronting Clark in a gas station and shooting him repeatedly before Clark knocks him out. After Rickman is killed and Kyle disappears, Lex comes up and talks with Clark, promising their friendship is the stuff of legend.

Roger later showed Lex a video simulation of how Clark saved him, which impressed Lex, but he also reminded Nixon that his job was the research the meteors. Lex also reminds Roger that no one will find out the Clark side of the story. He then observed a blur from the night Phelan died as Victoria approaches him. Lex assures her he's fine. He then goes to Clark to question him about the accident, leading Clark to dare him to hit him with a hammer. Lex denies and watches Clark walk off angrily. Lex then met up with Sir Harry and Victoria, learning they were going to take LuthorCorp for themselves using Cadmus, telling Victoria that he hoped it was worth it. Lex then apologized to Clark for not trusting him after he's tossed around by Eric Summers. Lex then gets called into another meeting with the Hardwicks when they discover that he tricked them since Cadmus Labs was worthless. After Hardwick's company was bought out, he gave it to Victoria and left. Lex then told Roger that the Kents were off limits, and he also learned that the whole Hardwick debacle was a scheme by Lionel.

Zero

Lex parties with Amanda Rothman at Club Zero.

In 1999, Lex took Amanda Rothman to Club Zero knowing she would see her fiancé Jude Royce flirting with other girls. When Jude attacked Lex, Amanda shot and killed him. Lionel handled the incident in such a way that Lex's name stayed out of the papers. Three years later, Lex seemed to be hunted by a returned Jude Royce, who did such things as leave the hand of Club Zero's bouncer, Max Kasich, in the Talon, personally haunting him, demanding the truth about Club Zero, and finally kidnapping him after dumping LuthorCorp waste on the Kents' farm. Afterwards, Lex learned that the returned Jude was actually just a double, and that the real mastermind was Amanda's brother, Roy Rothman. He tried to shoot Lex for indirectly killing Amanda by cutting her out of her life during Club Zero when Clark arrived and covertly stopped him. Lex then thanked Clark at the Talon's grand opening and told him the truth about that night.
